About Federal Bank

It has been almost 86 years, since the time Federal bank made a remarkable entry into the banking sector. The bank was founded in the year 1931 on April 28 and thus has a golden history dating back the Indian freedom struggle. You might be surprised to know that the bank began its operations with a capital of Rs. 5000 during that time. It was known as Travancore bank until 1947 when it was officially renamed as ‘Federal Bank Limited’. The headquarter of the bank is located in Aluva, Kochi on the banks of Periyar river, which in itself serves as a beautiful gateway to the bank. The bank opened another branch on January 26, 1946 at Angamaly. The third branch was opened within a year on April 18, 1947 at Perumbavoor. The year 1959 holds special importance to the bank as it launched many new deposit schemes for the customers. This accelerated the growth level for the bank. In 1970, the bank was able to gain the status of a private commercial bank which coincided with silver jubilee celebrations since the time it opened its branch in Aluva. In 1945 the bank moved to its current location, so it marked 25 years of a successful journey for the bank.

Federal bank has been successful in emerging out as a winner when it comes to stability and credibility in the banking industry. It has always brought something new to the table whether it was FedBook or Fed-E-Credit. The end result was that the bank was showered with praises and awards. It won the award in the category of the best corporate brand in the year 2016 when Economic Times presented the bank with such a recognition. Noida is one of the fastest growing cities in the country and the financial needs are mushrooming at a rapid level. To counter the same, Federal bank has opened two branches where it offers timely solutions to the problems of its customers.
