Star Health Insurance introduces a health care policy for women covering all the necessary medical expenses. This plan is for women aged 18 years and above. The maximum entry age under this Star Health Plan is 75 years. And don’t worry, the insured can also cover their family members such as dependent children and spouses. What are the Benefits of Buying Star Women Care Insurance Policy?

When you buy Star Women Care Insurance Policy, the following benefits are available to you –

Basic Cover

The company will pay for the room, boarding and nursing up to 1% of your chosen sum
Insured. And the policy will cover it per day based on the total number of continuous stays in the hospital. This coverage is subject to a maximum of INR 20,000 per day.

Star Mother Cover

If your child is aged below 12 years, the insurance company shall cover a Single Private A/c room in the hospital. This benefit is payable if your child is under treatment in ICU. If the room is not available in the same hospital in which your child is admitted, the INR 2,500 is reimbursed per day, up to seven days for your stay in the hotel room, provided the hotel is within 2km from the hospital.

Voluntary Sterilization Expenses

The policy covers expenses of Voluntary Sterilization (Tubectomy / Vasectomy) after a waiting period of 24 months if you’re married and 22 years or above. Reversal of Sterilization is not payable.

Miscarriage due to Accident

A lump sum amount shall be payable towards miscarriage if it arises due to an accident. This benefit is available only once.

Delivery Expenses

Delivery of child including Cesarean section, prenatal and postnatal expenses shall be covered by the company. And this benefit is available for two deliveries. Pre and post-hospitalization expenses are not applicable for this section.

Treatment of Newborn Baby

During the policy year, in-patient hospitalization expenses such as Congenital Internal and External defects or anomalies of the newborn are covered from day one, subject to a
maximum of 25% of the sum insured. After receiving thepayment of the applicable premium for newborns, the policy covers such expenses up to 100% of the sum insured. Vaccination expenses for the newborn baby are payable up to 12 months from birth. Star Health’s liability for vaccination is INR 2,500 for sum insured of INR 5 and 10 Lakh and INR 3,500 for sum insured INR 15 Lakh and above.

The company covers Metabolic Screening Test for NewBorn once up to INR 3,500. Up to four pediatrician consultations per year are payable up to the age of 12 years. The policy covers each consultation for up to INR 500.

Note: Expenses for a newborn are covered subject to an admissible delivery claim or If you have submitted scan reports taken during the 12th and 20th weeks of your pregnancy and Star Health Insurance has accepted the same.
