Luxury Car Price Slashed in India – Mercedes and BMW get Affected

Now, this is certainly a piece of news that is going to excite luxury car buyers. Luxury cars post GST implementation are all set to get cheaper. Leading luxury car manufacturers like Mercedes-Benz and BMW will be passing the benefits of Goods and Service Tax to the customers by reducing the transaction price of the cars. Mercedes Benz India has reduced the transaction price of its cars by four percent on a weighted average. This is applicable with immediate effect for all Mercedes cars that are made in India. The reduction in the on-road price will in the range of  ₹ 1.5 lakh to ₹ 7 lakh. The difference between current showroom prices and after GST showroom prices will be covered by the revision in prices.

The reduction in the prices will differ from state to state with the difference being two to nine percent. The difference between the current tax structure of the state and the GST tax slab will determine the actual price of the vehicle. The buyers of luxury Mercedes cars made in India like Mercedes-Benz CLA, GLA, GLE, GLS, C-Class, S-Class, E-Class, GLC, and Mercedes-Maybach S 500 will get benefited from the revision in prices.

Other car manufacturers have joined the bandwagon and are offering customers exciting benefits.  BMW in addition to passing the benefits of GST to the customers is also giving them a limited period offer. This includes a reduced interest rate at 7.9 percent, assured buyback guarantee for up to four years complimentary three years of maintenance & service and one-year complimentary insurance.

Range Rover Price after GST

Another major car manufacturer Jaguar Land Rover has brought down the prices of three of its cars by ₹4 lakh. The revised prices of these three models Range Rover Evoque, Jaguar XE sedan (petrol) and Discovery Sport are ₹ 45.85 lakhs,  ₹ 37.25 lakhs and ₹ 43.80 lakhs respectively.

Maruti Suzuki S-Cross prices slashed by ₹ 70,000

After the price cut by renowned luxury brands, Maruti Suzuki reduces the price of S-Cross, the premium crossover. Before this, the Suzuki dealers have provided cash discounts on their car range which includes Alto, Swift and WagonR. Until now, this offer was not available on the Nexa model and still, it is unclear whether the price benefit will be offered on other Nexa models. But on the S-Cross crossover, the cash discount of ₹ 70,000 is being provided. The offer is valid only on the diesel car version. The car is available in variants of 1.3-litre and 1.6-litre diesel engine. The current price of the car variates from ₹ 8.79 lakh to 12.03 lakh. It is the most expensive car offered by Maruti Suzuki till today.

The reduction in prices of luxury cars post GST is definitely going to please the car buyers. Car manufacturers, on the other hand, will try to take maximum advantage of the GST tax rates and clear their stocks faster.
