Grievance Redressal System of Maharashtra Bank

The grievance redressal system of Bank of Maharashtra works on 3 levels:

  • The first level is at the branch level where you have to file the grievance.
  • If the issue is not solved at the branch level, then it is escalated to the zonal level.
  • If still the zonal officers do not provide a satisfactory solution, then the issue can further be escalated to the head office.

Level 4 - Chairman and Managing Director of the Bank

If the nodal officer does not give a satisfactory response within 2 weeks, then customers can contact the chairman and managing director of the bank. If no action is taken within 30 days, customers can take any of the following actions.

  • Contact the banking ombudsman in state capitals. These ombudsman are appointed under the RBI’s Ombudsman Scheme, 2006.
  • Contact the directorate of public grievances under the Government of India, Cabinet Secretariat located in Sansad Marg, New Delhi.
  • Reach out to the District Consumer Forum under the Consumer Protection Act, 1985.

Apart from these levels of grievance redressal, Bank of Maharashtra also appoints an internal ombudsman as the chief customer service officer (CCSO). Customers can contact the CCSO regarding any complaints or queries before getting in touch with the banking ombudsman.
