Options for the SBI Gold Loan

Gold Loan

• This loan is given for a maximum tenure of 36 months.
• The bank will only give you 75% of the Gold Value as the loan and keeps 25% as a margin.
• 7.50% is the rate of interest charged in this loan.
• If you have mortgaged the Gold having a value of ₹2 lacs then you will get only ₹1.5 lacs as a loan.

Liquid Gold Loan

• The bank will sanction a certain limit as a loan that is known as the overdraft limit.
• The interest will be charged only on the borrowed amount and not on the limit sanctioned by the bank.
• Rate of interest on this loan is 7.50% per annum.
• If the bank gives you a limit of ₹5 lacs and you borrow ₹2 Lacs only then the interest will be charged on ₹2 Lacs.

Bullet Repayment Gold Loan

• The bank gives you the option to clear the loan before the expiry of the tenure.
• The bank will charge the interest for that period only when the loan is borrowed and for the tenure given by the bank.
• Maximum tenure of 12 months is allowed in this loan.
• 7.50% is the rate of interest charged by the State Bank of India on this Gold Loan in Chennai.
• Suppose you have borrowed the loan for 12 months and you repay it in 2 months then the bank will charge interest for 2 months only.

Eligibility Criteria in Chennai for the SBI Gold Loan

• A Minimum Age of 18 Years is required to take the Loan.
• A Single Applicant and co-applicant can take the loan.
• Individuals must a regular income so that they can clear the loan on time.
• Bills of all the Gold items that are mortgaged must be presented to the bank.
