About HDFC Bank

HDFC bank is a leading private sector commercial bank that was established in the year 1994. The incorporation of the bank took place when Reserve Bank of India allowed Housing Development Finance Corporation Limited (HDFC) to introduce private sector bank in India. The ‘in-principal’ approval was the first of its kind and was given because RBI aimed to liberalise the entire Indian banking sector back then. The bank is conducting all its main operations from Mumbai, where the head office is located. a HDFC bank started working as a fully scheduled commercial bank from January 1995. When it comes to a wide network, only a few banks can give competition to HDFC bank. It has over  4,500 branches and more than 12,000 ATMs in the country. The bank’s efforts and strategy have been applauded from time to time. Today, the bank has captured a major share in certain segments of the market.

No other bank as made effective and efficient use of technology as HDFC bank has made. The bak has a box full of digital offerings like 10-second personal loan,Chillr,  Pay Zapp, SME Bank, 30-Minute Auto Loan and Watch Banking. The bank merged with Times Bank in 2000 and this was the first ever case when two private sector banks had a merger with one another.
