About Jammu and Kashmir Bank

Jammu and Kashmir bank was formed in the year 1938. The bank is a semi- government bank in which the capital of the state, as well as the public under the control of the state government, is equally invested. It was established under the patent letter issued by the Maharaja of Kashmir, Hari Singh. The first branch of the bank became operational in the year 1939. The bank has been formed before the independence and was one of its kind as the state-owned bank in the entire country. The bank faced a huge loss when three of its branches fell on the other side of Kashmir. Then later on according to the Central laws to the state of Jammu and Kashmir it became the government property.

Jammu and Kashmir bank has spread its branches in the country and has the universal approach.
