Karnataka bank is the commercial bank that was set up in the year 1924 in Mangalore. The bank has been formed pre-independence and has gained the status of A class Scheduled Commercial bank. The bank was established by the contribution of several lawyers and businessmen. The bank is known as Karnataka bank Ltd. It is the merger of three other banks namely Sringeri Sharada bank Ltd, Chitradurga Bank Ltd, and Bank of Karnataka. The bank has different branches in the state of Karnataka and since its formation, it has come a long way to spread its network in other state and made the national presence. The bank has opened its branches in 21 states and 2 union territories with a total number of 743 branches in the country.
