About Lakshmi Vilas Bank
Founded eight decades ago by a group of businessmen, Lakshmi Vilas Bank is an Indian public sector bank. It was incorporated on November 3, 1926, under the Indian Companies Act 1913. The company obtained the certificate to commence business on November 10, 1926. After the introduction of Banking Resolution Act, 1949 and Reserve Bank of India as the regulator for the banking sector, the bank obtained its banking licence from RBI on 19 June 1958. It began to operate as a full-fledged commercial bank on 11 August 1958. The bank saw considerable expansion of its network during the period 1961-65. It took over nine other banks. After that, the bank started expanding its branch network beyond Tamil Nadu. It opened several branches in its neighbouring towns and cities to serve the vast population of the country. It has a chain of branches across the length and breadth of the country through which it deals with the customers. To ensure maximum customer satisfaction the bank has prepared a suite of products and services that provide a ready-made solution for their needs.
