Government Launched Mudra Protsahan Abhiyaan Promotion Campaign on September 27

In a bid to provide an impetus to its Mudra Yojana launched in 2015, the Modi Government is going one step further by promoting the scheme nationwide, starting from September 27 and ending on October 17, 2017. The promotion will kickstart from Varanasi and cover several other cities of the country. As many as 50 promotion campaigns are going to be made during the 20-day period.

Branded as Mudra Protsahan Abhiyaan, the campaign will encourage the growth of startups and small businesses across the country by promoting ‘Mudra Loans’. So far in 2017, the banks have sanctioned loans worth ₹74,601 crore to 1.59 crore beneficiaries. The loan disbursal figure, however, goes up to ₹3.66 lakh crore to 8.77 crore beneficiaries since the launch of Mudra Yojana in April 2015. In addition to mudra loans, the campaign will also promote various social security schemes and digital payment methods.

Who is Participating in Pradhan Mantri Mudra Protsahan Abhiyaan Promotion Campaign?

All the Banks, Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI), Insurance players, common service centres and others are participating in the campaign. The insurance companies would provide access to the following social security schemes.

  • Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Bima Yojana (Life Insurance)
  • Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (Accidental Insurance)
  • Atal Pension Yojana (Safeguarding Life at Old Age with Pension)

Aadhaar Enrolment & Updation

The Unique Identification Development Authority of India (UIDAI) will put up stalls to make the visitors aware of the Aadhaar. The authority would facilitate the enrollment and updation of Aadhaar details and make sure the bank account and mobile number of visitors are linked with the biometric authentication.

RuPay Cards and BHIM App on the Show

Visitors would be guided to download and use the mobile app, titled as BHIM, for making the payments. Moreover, Rupay Cards are going to be distributed and activated in the campaign. The National Payment Corporation of India (NPCI) will also put up a stall to promote and facilitate digital transactions for the visitors.
