About United Bank of India

United Bank of India is one of the responsible public sector banks in the country which has created a name for itself. It has worked hard to meet the financial requirements of the people of India. It belongs to the category of 14 banks that were nationalized on July 19, 1969. It was incorporated when four different banks of the past, Bengal Central Bank Ltd., Comilla Banking Corporation Ltd., Hooghly Bank Ltd and Comilla Union Bank Ltd. were merged together with one another in the year 1950. The bank when nationalized had advances of about ₹ 112 crores 174 something branches and about ₹  147 crores of deposits.  Presently, the bank has over 2000 branches and offices in different states India. The main head office of United Bank of India is set up in the city of Kolkata which is the former capital of India. It boasts of a business of ₹ 2 lakh crore.

United bank of India has a three-tier organizational set up which consists of a head office, regional offices, and branches. There are three full-fledged overseas branches of the bank located in  Kolkata, Mumbai and New Delhi. The bank is working out a plan to expand its international activities further to a newer level.  The bank got the golden jubilee award in the year 2007, for being the best bank in the north-east region for its exceptional excellence in the industry of khadi. The award was facilitated to the bank by MSME Ministry. The bank is credited for playing an instrumental role in spreading banking facilities to different regions of the country, in particular, the north-eastern and eastern belt. New Delhi is the capital of India and a very important city which has an importance of its own.  United bank of India has established more than 30 branches in the city so that people of the city have a ready solution when it comes to the matter relating to finance.
