Gold Loan Option from the State Bank of India

You can see in the table mentioned-above that SBI offers three types of Gold Loan. So you can go through all of them and choose the best plan for yourself.

Gold Loan:- It is a simple Gold Loan in which the loan amount is lent to the borrower for a maximum tenure of 3 years. In this option, the value of the loan amount is 75% of the gold mortgages. The bank keeps the remaining 25% as the security because the value of the gold might decrease due to the market fluctuations. 7.50% is the rate of interest chargeable per annum and if you have mortgaged the gold of ₹2 lacs then the bank will lend ₹1.50 lacs to you.

Liquid Gold Loan:- As you can see in the name that it is a liquid gold loan so in this option the bank will give you a certain liquid overdraft limit. You can borrow the money from that limit and the interest will be chargeable only on the borrowed amount and not on the sanctioned amount. Suppose your liquid overdraft limit is ₹5 Lacs and you have borrowed only ₹2 Lacs from that limit then the interest will be charged only on the amount of ₹2 lacs.

Bullet Repayment Gold Loan:- It is a time-based gold loan in which the loan is given for a maximum tenure of 12 Months. You have the option to prepay the loan before the expiry of the tenure. The interest will be charged only for the time the loan is borrowed and not for the full tenure. Suppose you took an SBI Gold Loan for 12 months and you repay it in 4 months then the interest will be charged for a period of 4 months only.

SBI Gold Loan Eligibility Criteria in Ahmedabad

• A Minimum Age of 18 Years is needed to take the Loan.
• A co-applicant and a Single Applicant have the right to take the loan.
• A regular income is required so that the individual has the power to repay the loan.
• Receipts of all the Gold items, jewellery, and ornaments that are mortgaged must be shown to the bank.
