About UCO Bank
There was freedom struggle going on against the Britishers at one place. On the other hand, a businessman, namely Ghanshyam Das Birla was thinking long and hard to set up a bank in India. Even more interesting is the fact that the idea came during the Quit India Movement in 1942, a battle which he was the part of. Finally, a year later in 1943, his dream came true with United Commercial Bank, the previous name of the present UCO Bank. The operation started with a head office in Kolkata.
From the time of inception to now, the bank has moved up the ladder gradually by developing products that have inspired people to dream beyond their realms. It’s the core ideology of the bank and its competent personnel that have helped it sail through. The bank is blessed to have people showing their work in the offices of Government of India and Reserve Bank of India. Also, many have come from strong backgrounds-business, finance and economy to let the bank achieve higher growth avenues as the time went along.
The focus of the bank has always been to develop unique products. And it is this urge that has helped it become a preferred banker for several customers belonging to corporate, MSME, retail, NRI and other verticals.
Even the operational presence has widened since the inception of the bank. From a head office in Kolkata to operating in excess of 3,000 branches and 2,500 ATMs speaks volumes about the rapidly expanding reach of the bank. Be it the top-tier cities or small towns, UCO Bank has spread its wings everywhere.
The city of Nawab Lucknow is also touched upon by UCO Bank, which has around 20-30 branches there. A Lucknow resident? Want to find the locations of the branches in the city? Stay glued to the table below.
