About United Bank of India

There are some banks which have left a solid impression in the minds of the people of India. One of them is United bank of India. The bank which was incorporated in the year 1959 due to the unification of four banks, has been working day in and day out to fulfill every financial requirement of the people. It received the name ‘United Bank of India’ because it was formed due to the merger of Comilla Union Bank Ltd., Comilla Banking Corporation Ltd., Bengal Central Bank Ltd.and Hooghly Bank Ltd. The bank got nationalised along with 13 other banks on July 19, 1969. The main head office of the bank is established in Kolkata, West Bengal. The bank has to be credited for its remarkable contribution to expanding the banking services to different parts of the country, especially our eastern and north-eastern belt. It is the Convener for the two states of Tripura and West Bengal in the State Level Bankers’ Committees (SLBC).

United Bank of India is on the path to achieving excellence in all levels of customer satisfaction. To keep the customer happy has been the major driving force of the bank. It has won several awards for performing reasonably well. Awards have come in the form of National award for second best performance in small unit industries financing and Golden Jubilee award for its noteworthy contribution in the field of village and Khadi industry.
