About United Bank of India

United Bank of India was established in the year 1950 due to the amalgamation of four other banks and since then, it has touched milestones after milestones. On July 19, 1969, the bank got nationalised with 13 more banks. The main headquarter of the bank is located in the classic city of Kolkata, West Bengal. The bank wishes to emerge out as a customer-centric, dynamic, and progressive premier bank with pan-India presence. Today, the bank has spread about 1999 branches and offices in several parts of the country. The bank has three overseas branches in New Delhi, Mumbai and Kolkata to facilitate international activities. The contribution of United bank of India to the development of banking facilities in north-eastern and eastern part of India is unmatched.

After nationalisation, United Bank of India took the responsibility of undertaking developmental activities in the semi-urban and rural areas. Due to its tremendous work in the field, the bank got the designation of the Lead bank in many districts. Currently, it is the Lead bank in about 30 districts of Tripura, Assam, West Bengal and Manipur. It has been a major sponsor of about four Regional Rural banks in Tripura, Manipur, Assam and West Bengal. Guwahati has a very special connection with United bank of India.
